The UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement secured tariff-free trade for businesses trading between the UK and EU following the end of the transition period on 31st Dec 2020. Rules of origin govern how customs authorities determine the ‘economic nationality’ of goods either where they are wholly grown, produced or where the last substantial manufacturing transformation took place.
